Spring is in the air!

March has Sprung! Spring is one of the seasons I like. The beauty of God's world blossoms and prevails wonderful sights. From flowers to newborns, green grass and lot of creatures waking up from the winter. The sunshine, wind and rain makes the days into surprises, you never know what you might see. The days are longer and my allergies are flaring with all the pollen. Ah the price I pay to witness the beauty of spring.

I have been busy, I cleaned out my flower beds, walkways and planted new bulbs. This year I planted some herbs in planters. I want to freeze some so I can have them throughout the year, don't you just love fresh herbs? I sure do. My husband is getting our garden ready for planting. I so enjoy fresh veggies. I will can what we can not eat, it is always nice to have them for the winter. I sure hope my fig, nectarine and lemon tree do better this year. We had such a dry summer here in Louisiana last year and I pray that it won't repeat itself. The rain we are getting is welcomed here but my heart goes out to the families that were just hit by severe tornadoes. I'm not sure what the fatality count was but it was more than I wanted to hear about. My prayers go out to the survivors and their families and friend who was effected by the damaging tornadoes. I donate to Samaritans Purse, one of the many charities I support, and they are gearing up for some relief efforts. They are calling for volunteers and donations if you want to help here is the website:  http://spvolunteernetwork.org/projects/tornado-response.aspx the link should work in the case that is does not you should be able to cut and paste the address to your web browser it will take you straight to the volunteer website. As far as donations the website for that is:  https://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/Giving/Project_donations?pc=13622 this is where you may donate to help if you feel in your heart you have to do something instead of nothing. Times are bad for everyone but I feel like it is worse for victims of disasters. My advise is to pray about it and do what your heart tells you to do, that's what usually do.

With all that said I have a few things to announce that I have been developing for Always N Stitches. I have expanded in the social network. Everyone can now find Always N Stitches on these social medias. Connect to them and follow and/or "Like" us.

Valentine's with The Byrd Girl's

Well preparing for my daughters Valentine's Day party for school was one project after the other. My 5 year old had a blast doing all the craft projects I had in store for us. Her class had their party today and besides making Hershey Kisses Rings and her writing her name on every Valentines card, which I have to brag a little, okay a lot, she did a great job, considering her name has 8, yes eight letters in it. And she has no problem spelling it out and writing it too. She amazes me all the time. And a little more bragging she is reading three and four letter words already how cool is that. Oh and my 15 month old was watching us and when it came to writing she got her a color and a piece of paper and started doodling. How funny and amazing is that. My children are totally aware and knowledgeable of what is going on an I am so amazed by it.

Okay enough bragging, back to the reason I am posting this on my blog. Which is about our neat craft project we had fun doing together. After all the card signing she did we made home made Red Heart Suckers in the flavor of vanilla cream, YUMMM!

I bought heart shaped molds from Hobby Lobby, my favorite store, and candy chips. We melted the candy chips in a microwaveable bowl in the microwave heating at 30 second increments and stirring. After a few times the candy melts smoothly. Then we poured the melted candy into the molds and placing a stick into each heart shaped candy mold. We tapped the mold tray several times to release any air bubbles. Then laid them flat in the fridge for 15 minutes. After that they just pop right out. Wha Lah, you have home made suckers for all to enjoy. And yes, we couldn't resist, we tried one and they were yummy.

Now I had to make something personalized for her Teachers. Since that is my specialty, making personalized gifts.  So I asked my daughter what she like about each teacher. After making a list of what she liked about them I put together a very cool framed word art for each of them. Describing what my daughter thought about them. After framing each of them I think they turned out pretty neat. If you are wondering what the white area is on the photograph is, I whited out the school name for safety reasons.

Well what do you think about our craft ideas? Maybe you have a cool craft idea that you can share. I love to read your ideas of what you did for Valentine's Day, if so you can write me in our comment section below. Just hover your mouse over comments, click when it changes colors and share your Valentine craft project. Looking forward to hearing from each of you. I want to wish you and yours a Wonderful Valentines Day and enjoy every moment you can with your loved ones, because time flies when you are having fun. Happy Crafting!!
